Ford F-150

For years, Ford’s famed F-150 has been a favorite among truck owners and it’s popularity still hasn’t changed. The 2017 model features aluminum both in the body and the bed, making it durable and lightweight and now comes with a 10-speed transmission for improved acceleration and performance.

Engines include a 2.7-liter or 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6, a 3.5-liter V6, or a 5.0-liter V-8.

Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Chevrolet has stepped up its handling in this year’s 1500 model and although the styling remains virtually the same since its upgrade in 2014, the smooth ride and quiet cabin make for notable improvements. It’s also available in a variety of trims and boasts a steel bed that can handle virtually any workload.

Engines include a 4.3-liter V-6, a 5.3-liter V-8, or a 6.2-liter V-8.

GMC Sierra 1500

The premium interior of GMC’s Sierra 1500 is something that many are raving about – especially in the more luxurious trims. And with an upgrade in towing capability (12,500 pounds, up from 12,000 in the 2016 models), you can expect to haul everything you need to for work or for fun.

Dodge Ram 1500

Another famed favorite in the pick-up truck world, is the Ram 1500 and this year, an upgraded suspension system means a comfortable ride. In addition, Honda did away with their six-speed automatic transmission and replaced it with an eight-speed. And if infotainment is on your list, the Ram features a user-friendly system.

Engines include a 3.6-liter V6, a 5.7-liter V8, a new 3.0-liter V6 diesel.

Honda Ridgeline

With a roomy cabin and ample storage, the Honda Ridgeline is an unexpected pick among truck lovers. This year’s model gets up to 26 mpg and actually uses unibody architecture instead of a bed-on-frame approach that many other manufacturers take. The Ridgeline is also available with bed-mounted speakers, making it a great truck for parties and tailgates.

Engines include a 3.5-liter V6.

Toyota Tundra

The 2017 Toyota Tundra offers some of the most spacious back seats in its class and is loaded with a touch-screen infotainment system, Bluetooth, and a rearview camera. In addition, it offers a variety of different trims and an available Off-Road package with a tuned suspension.

Engines include a 4.6-liter V8 or a 5.7-liter V8.
